Tristan Boyer Binns has been practicing yoga since she was 14, when she stumbled into an eye-opening Breath of Fire workshop. Yoga has been a big part of her life throughout her travels, office work and pregnancies, and in coping with a young family. Tristan was a children’s book publisher and author and had reached the end of her patience with writing books on the Vikings. Deciding to become a yoga teacher was like a curtain lifting—it suddenly was the right thing to do, the only thing to do and was great fun as well as some of the hardest work she had ever done.
Tristan completed her Iyengar teacher training in London with Julie Hodges and is a Certified Iyengar Instructor. She enjoys helping students find new ways to see their challenges, embrace the incredible strength we all have–physical and emotional–and learn to relax and release into softness. She is known for her sense of humor, detailed instructions, and love of ropes and restorative classes. She loves questions! Tristan is also a regular contributor to Iyengar Yoga Association of New England blog.
I feel like the studio is my sanctuary, my place to practice and step outside the everyday, schedule-based demands of life. When I need to check in with my timeless side I can come to my mat, work with the teachers and students, and be in the moment completely. What a gift!—Tristan Boyer Binns
