As a long-time weightlifter, Adam DeVito came to yoga with a body that was both injured and stiff. After a friend led him through his first vinyasa practice, Adam’s perspective on self-care was flipped upside-down. Yoga became a hobby that he would indulge on the weekends and in his spare time to start to open and heal his body. Slowly, he began to expand his knowledge through books, articles, and YouTube videos. After six months of practice, the weightlifting had completely stopped and this benign hobby turned into a dedicated practice.
Adam completed his 200-hour certification while in Cali, Colombia, with the Inbound School of Yoga. He has continued his yoga education under the tutelage of Natasha Rizopoulos and the faculty at Down Under School of Yoga. He is constantly humbled by the depth of knowledge of his teachers, as well as their ability to impart their knowledge in such a clear and concise manner.
In the studio with Adam, students can expect a fluid class with a heavy emphasis on proper alignment. Adam’s goal is to emulate his incredible teachers, empowering his students to challenge themselves in the safest way possible. Outside the studio you can find Adam rock-climbing, longboarding, gardening, working with his beehive, or tending to the chickens at his current residence.
