Adrienne Wilson first tried yoga and meditation in 2009 while on a study-abroad program in India. She was intrigued enough to continue taking classes sporadically over the next few years as she moved around the country, finished a degree, held a variety of jobs, and continued her learning through the school of life.
Over several years Adrienne has grown and developed a fluid, joyful Vinyasa-based asana practice that has helped her slow down, be present, tune in to her body and spirit, and become stronger and more flexible. Always a student, Adrienne continues to practice regularly and learn all she can about the philosophy of yoga. She is ever grateful for, and humbled by, the practice of yoga.
When she is not on her mat, or at the Down Under front desk, Adrienne spends a lot of time with children. A kid at heart, she enjoys playing, creating, and imagining with children—making art, reading, exploring nature, running around barefoot... Prior to working at Down Under, Adrienne was a pre-school teacher and a nanny for local Boston families. She is also a gardener and an herbalist, and can often be found working in the dirt, growing veggies and medicinal herbs. She also enjoys traveling, camping, cooking and baking, the practice of 5Rhythms dance, and various forms of writing.
Adrienne is the Kids Manager and Student Account Manager at Down Under School of Yoga and thoroughly enjoys interacting with fellow yogis at the studios. She aspires to become a kids yoga teacher and eventually to create and run a small outdoor, nature-based school for young children with yoga and meditation components. Her next adventure will be to pursue her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Down Under.
