Often the momentum of life has a way of keeping our minds smothered with activity. As a result, the mind becomes unstable and we lose contact with our true consciousness. Fortunately, anyone can tap into Pratyahara to calm the mind on a daily basis.
Yoga, like other arts, helps us see more clearly. It is through the arts, including the art of yoga, that we develop the capacity to witness difficult things that otherwise are repressed and hidden away.
In uncertain times a yoga practice can be a sanctuary, a place for retreat, and I encourage students to find the time for these moments of respite.
