An Iyengar Registration Series at Down Under follows the same format that has become renowned worldwide: every week, you come in to class and study with the same teacher surrounded by the same group of students. The intimacy that comes with letting your teacher see you week after week nourishes the development of a special relationship: the teacher will assess where you are coming from, see where you are and challenge you to take the next step as you gradually become ready. Not only that, but growing in this way alongside a group of committed and serious students who also know how to laugh when things get too serious carve the space for a supportive environment in which there is no reason for you to grow.
That growth comes from becoming a dedicated student of yoga. You’ll watch your mind as the poses come and go. You’ll feel the breath in and out as you work on them. But, most importantly, the huge dedication that takes to show up and work your way through what yoga gives you will show, and your teacher will see it, acknowledge, and help you further grow.
The Iyengar Registration Series at Down Under account for what yoga is if you are willing to do the work. It’s the calming of the mind chatter that will allow you to focus on what really should be steady and consistent and enduring. Your growth as a yogi furthers your growth as a human being as you take that focus off the mat and apply it to your world.
