In-Depth Studies: The Joy of Backbends with Patricia Walden

  • Brookline Studio 1054 Beacon Street Brookline, MA 02446 (map)

There are 2 families of backbends:

  • The first family is urdhva mukha svanasana (upward facing dog), ustrasana (camel), and dhanurasana (bow).

  • The second family begins with urdhva dhanurasana (upward facing bow or wheel).

This workshop is for those who have a regular practice of urdhva dhanurasana and are ready to move on.  Urdhva dhanurasana is the foundation for the next two backbends: viparita dandasana and kapotasana (pigeon pose). You will learn a series of actions and movements to help you progress toward your next stage.

While all experience levels are welcome, this workshop is not appropriate for students with shoulder injuries.

Cost: $40
