Veteran Boston teacher Rebecca Pacheco joined the faculty in 2012 bringing her reputation as teacher, writer, commentator and athlete. For more than a decade, Rebecca has worked with students of all levels, Olympic/professional athletes and coaches, ballet dancers, corporate executives, and students with injuries. A master Baptiste teacher for years, Rebecca's strong, articulate, and inspiring style is influenced by many traditions of yoga. She draws on an academic background of Eastern religions, is a sports fanatic and avid runner (yoga served her well in Boston marathon!).
Her class is a vigorous heated flow with great humor and joy. You can tell Rebecca has studied Ashtanga, Iyengar, and various other forms of Vinyasa over the years, so traces of these styles reveal themselves in her class.
"I enjoy creating yoga experiences that are thoughtful, challenging, and fun for students and I derive inspiration from many sources - philosophy, literature, sports and more". The result is a well-rounded practice to clear the mind, strengthen the body and spark the soul.
Rebecca began practicing yoga at the age of 16 when a high school field hockey coach integrated asanas into pre-game stretches. She attended her first yoga class at the local recreation center in her hometown. "It was a very gentle Hatha class, comprised mainly of kindly white-haired seniors - I'm forever grateful to my first teacher and fellow yogis, who simply accepted and welcomed me."
