"During class I hope students feel inspired, curious, absorbed, and awake. Afterwards, I hope they feel rejuvenated, alive, more aware, and deeply connected to themselves and to others."
What we Believe

Peentz Dubble has been a nationally Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher for 26 years and studies regularly with the Iyengar family in Pune, India. She began to practice yoga at age 13, finding that asana practice served to strengthen and develop flexibility while teaching her about alignment and movement that eliminated the chronic injury patterns she had developed as a dancer. She felt an immediate love for Iyengar yoga when first introduced to the practice in 1980.

Peentz was co-director of the first Iyengar Yoga Center in New York City and a founding faculty member of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of New York. She moved to Boston in 1994 and began
teaching at the BKS Iyengar Yoga Center in Somerville. In addition to
directing the Iyengar program at Down Under Yoga, Peentz is
co-teacher of the teacher training program with Patricia Walden
at the BKS Iyengar Yoga Mala in Cambridge. Many of Down
Under Yoga’s Iyengar instructors were trained through this
program and have served as assstants to Peentz and
Patricia. Peentz also is an assessor for the Iyengar
Yoga National Association of the United States
(IYNAUS) teacher certification program.

Peentz’s yoga classes offer “an opportunity to dive
deep into the unknown” and to study the Iyengar
approach to classical Hatha yoga in a systematic,
methodical way.  She is renowned for her
sequencing and her ability to really see her
students, adapt to their needs, and assist
them in reaching their personal goals and
full potential.
