After seven wonderful years in our Newton Highlands location, we’re delighted to welcome you to our new home in Newtonville. Come tour our beautiful new space and take a free class with one of our teachers. If you're a regular, try a new teacher or style of yoga–and bring a friend!
In the evening, join us for a lively panel discussion titled “Balancing Acts: Poses, Products, and the Future of Yoga in America,” led by yoga luminaries Barbara Benagh, Patricia Walden, and Peentz Dubble, with Down Under Yoga founder Justine Wiltshire Cohen. Wind down the day with nibbles, juice, and conversation after the panel.

Today, more than 16 million Americans practice yoga on a regular basis, most emphasizing the physical rather than the spiritual side. The amount of money spent on yoga clothing and accessories, yoga vacations and retreats, water bottles, underwear, and videos stretches well into the billions. We all celebrate this new popularity, but it raises some important questions. For the opening of Down Under Yoga, founder Justine Wiltshire Cohen and Director of the Iyengar Program Peentz Dubble have invited Barbara Benagh and Patricia Walden to discuss the changes, the benefits and pitfalls of commercialization, and where yoga in America is heading.
7:30 pm Please stay for nibbles and juice.
