As Boston's premier yoga studio, we are continuously looking for the highest caliber teaching faculty to join us and make a home at Down Under School of Yoga.
If you are interested in joining our team, the first step is to take class! Get to know our teachers so that you can understand the offerings in this studio, the different faculty members and the ethos of our school. Being a part of our student community first will help you see who you resonate with, what style of yoga within this studio you would teach and any teacher you may be interested in studying with.
A next great step is our Art of Assisting Program which will introduce you to the faculty and students and place you as part of the tight knit team who consistently refine their skills at adjusting and teaching with their hands in our classrooms. To deepen your knowledge on a variety of subjects, from the history of yoga, to studying the sutras, to exploring modifications for prenatal yoga, we offer Continuing Education discussions with senior teachers and visiting faculty. We also highly recommend our 300 hr Advanced Teacher Training with Natasha Rizopoulos, Barbara Benagh and Down Under faculty, a training that not only aims to refine your voice and develop your teaching perspective, but it can showcase your teaching to our faculty through practice teaching and community classes.
All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.—Walt Disney
If you are a newer teacher, we encourage you to take these steps so that when you apply to our faculty, you are ready to teach confidently at the point you apply for a position.
If you are a seasoned teacher, please email a cover letter that describes your teachers, your interest in working with Down Under, and indicates your availability and current teaching schedule, alog with your teaching resume to Lisa Matthews: email@example.com. If it seems like you may be a good fit for our school, we will be in touch to schedule an introductory meeting and/or audition.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
