Michael Ponte

With a personal practice of twelve years and a clear calling, Michael is thrilled to call yoga his full-time job. Michael joins the management team after years of restaurant management and customer service positions. He brings this experience into his favorite place to be: a yoga studio. Michael began practicing yoga while performing in a production of HAIR in Philadelphia. From Philadelphia to New York to Los Angeles, acting led him to travel, but yoga kept him grounded. In Los Angeles Michael studied with his most inspiring teachers at the Center for Yoga in Larchmont Village. He completed his 200-hour teacher training in Bali with Alicia Chueng and Oliver Reinsch and assisted that same training a year later. He has been teaching regularly in Provincetown and Boston ever since. Michael is humbled and thrilled to be able to share his love and passion for yoga with the Boston community and specifically the one at Down Under. When you come to his classes, expect specifically designed sequences to create heat, strength, and flexibility followed by peaceful relaxation. All this is set to great music and he cannot get through class without adding a bit of humor and personality. He has completed workshops in Yoga Anatomy, Restorative, and Yin Yoga, however his primary teaching style is Flow so expect to move, sweat, breathe and let it all go.
