Angelina Hawley-Dolan, a competitive swimmer for most of her life, was drawn at first, like many athletes to the physical practice of asana. As she began her Graduate studies in Developmental Psychology at Boston College she realized that there was more to yoga than just the physical practice. She turned to yoga to not only calm her body, but also her mind. She began to appreciate the fact that yoga can begin anytime, anywhere-on or off the mat.
Yoga involves the interplay between action and rest, comfort and risk, independence and community. When we step on our mat, and the dust kicked up by doubts and fears actually settles, we see more clearly who we are.—Angelina Hawley-Dolan
She is certified through YogaWorks and worked under the beautiful instruction of Natasha Rizopoulos, by whom she is ever inspired. In her classes, Angelina focuses on detailed alignment but also allows room for creative and powerful sequencing that blends breath and movement. She strives to offer a fun, dynamic and challenging experience for all levels. Off the mat Angelina has a Ph.D in Developmental Psychology and researches the intersection of the visual arts and psychology.
